CPS Expands

After an absence of seven years, CPS is returning to the Naki. Yes we are opening an office again in New Plymouth. I had been wanting to return for a while, so made some inquiries about buying one of the IANZ registered calibration labs but no luck.

Kirsty and I felt the time was right to return to Taranaki and try again. This time CPS is bigger, more organised, and the oil & gas industry is a lot stronger. This new office will be managed by Paul Martin – ex Laboratory Manager for Pentair New Plymouth. It’s a coup for Paul to join us, a fantastic way to start.

Like our pressure lab in Auckland, we have invested in the latest and greatest Fluke Temperature Calibration equipment. We have got the new Ultra Cool Metrology Well which allows us to get to -100ºC and up to 140ºC, The 9190A. Then to compliment this, we have a Fluke 9173, High Temperature Metrology Well, which covers the range from 50ºC to 700ºC. This is the start of phase 1.

To compliment this, will be our range of pressure calibration equipment , using our very own Pressure ComparatorsCrystal XP2i’sCrystal nVisionRalston FittingsFastCal Software and so on. They will be able to calibrate from -1 bar through to 2000 bar, so we are offering a full IANZ registered pressure and temperature calibration service. No short cuts or second rate equipment here!

This facility has a dual purpose, 1st it will be an IANZ registered pressure and temperature calibration facility but secondly its also an office for CPS. Our Vision for the CPS Lab in New Plymouth is to be the Temperature Calibration lab of choice for New Zealand industry, along with pressure calibration for the Taranaki Region. We will be stocking pressure gauges, a selection of rental equipment, Ralston fittings and like our Auckland lab we use what we sell.

So if you are in the market for calibration equipment, pressure gauges or need another XP2i, do pop in and have a talk to Paul or Nathan. Yes that’s right Nathan Ryder has also come over from Pentair to assist Paul, so if you have dealt with these two guys in the past you will know they are both very capable and professional. So between them they will be able to handle your pressure and/or temperature calibration requirements.

We are all very excited about this new direction for CPS and can’t wait until we open on Monday 10th June. So if you are in the area pop in and have a chat. Plus don’t forget Paul, Myself and Gary will be on the CPS stand exhibiting at the up-incoming ENEX Oil and Gas Show on the 6th and 7th of June. There is public access on the Friday afternoon but you need to pre register first – follow this link to pre-register under the industry access tab.

The CPS office and laboratory is situated at 39B Connett Road West.

The above photos are just the beginning of our new office and lab.
